There are different techniques for biodiesel washing,
including agitation washing, mist washing, and resin based biodiesel washing.
The process of biodiesel washing uses mixed with water. Water is weighted than
biodiesel and absorb the excess alcohol, catalyst, and soap suspends in the
fuel. After biodiesel washing
and settling, the water and the impurities in the water can be absorbed from
the bottom of the container. Several wash cycles are usually required. Biodiesel before shutting down the water
will be absorbed milky, and clearly the final wash water drained off. Excess
catalyst in the biodiesel will form soap when mixed with water, and it takes a
while for the soap to settle out. Depending on the process used, it takes
roughly one gallon of water per one gallon of biodiesel for a wash cycle. Mixture
should be completely dispersed throughout the water must be biodiesel.
