Esterification

Esterification occurs whilst a carboxylic acid reacts with an alcohol. This response can best get up inside the presence of an acid catalyst and warmth. It takes an expansion of strength to get rid of the -OH from the carboxylic acid, so a catalyst and warmth are had to produce the important electricity.

The response that blended the salicylic acid and acetic acid to form acetylsalicylic acid is called esterification. Esterification is the approach of forming esters from carboxylic acids. An ester is whilst a carbon is hooked up to two oxygens, but one of the oxygens isn't always associated with some thing else (so it is double-bonded to the carbon), at the same time as the other oxygen is hooked up to another carbon.
